Turn on the light - Stuck
Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Today, we are going to shine the light at our feet
Psalm 40:1–3 (ESV)
1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.
Do yo ever feel stuck?
Maybe in moments where you are trying to get "past" a particular thing
What about in your thinking, do you ever just feel bogged down?
Sometimes I think i'm ready to move into a new season, but I look around and the scenery doesn't change
3 Things That I Learn From Sticky Seasons
Being "Stuck" teaches me that I'm not in control
I'm learning in my sticky moments that God controls the times and seasons
In those moments - sometimes God is not trying to teach me that HE CAN -
He's letting me find out that I CAN'T!
The longer I lie to myself that I can FIX IT MYSELF - the longer I stay stuck!
"Mercy sakes alive I'm a girl!"
Being "Stuck" is an opportunity to wait well
When you're stuck, you have no choice but to wait - but HOW are you waiting
Do you know how i wait?
Franticly
Irritably
Angrily
David said: I waited patiently -
I prove my faith and trust in God in the sticky moments!
Being stuck was never meant to define you - it was meant to refine you.
When I tell my story - do you know what the really good parts are?
They are the moments when it seemed hopeless
They are the times when I had almost given up
God loves you enough to make your story interesting
Hebrews 12:2 - "The author and finisher of our faith"
When the story of your life is told - it's not going to be a boring one!
But when I'm like David - stuck in the pit of destruction and in the miry bog
God shows up and pulls me out!
When it's over - I have something to stand on
From sticky feet to stable steps - He... set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
From a cry of distress to a song of praise - He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
The moments that I am stuck make freedom feel so good
