Fresh Start - Prove It

Revelation 12:10–11 (NKJV)

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

We're going to pick up this Sunday - THIS YEAR - talking about being an overcomer

The Bible says that they were made overcomers by:

• The blood of the Lamb

• The word of their testimony

If I've experienced the life-changing power of the work of Jesus Christ and let that reality be part of my everyday conversations - I'll live a life that is marked by power.

To be an overcomer (or conquerer), we need to understand that we will experience things that need to be overcome or conquered

The accuser

→One of the words that is used to describe the devil is "accuser". The original word used there is actually  kategoreo (where we get “category”).

His weapon is to categorize people 

• The lie that he tells is that you'll never escape the mold that you came from

• If Satan can categorize you, he will convince you that you only amount to the things that "category" can do

• You are not the first one he has tried to categorize:

• Moses felt unable to lead because he wasn't eloquent

• Gideon felt inferior because he was from a small family

• Abraham felt like he missed it because he was too old

• Jeremiah felt limited because he was too young

• They categorized Jesus because he was a carpenter's son from Nazareth

• They categorized the disciples because they were from Galilee

• They categorized Paul because he had persecuted the church

At some point in your life (probably right now!) you could name a reason why you can't be what God has called you to be!

This lie will keep you from ever stepping into a new level of faith

• I'll only do the things that I'm comfortable with

• I'll pray the prayers that I'm comfortable praying

• I'll see the same things that I've been seeing

THIS YEAR - I'M READY TO SEE THE FULNESS OF THE KINGDOM AT WORK IN MY LIFE!

Hub City Church is going to see some people who go to the next level spiritually this year!

• Here's the reality - We're going forward and if you choose to go with us - nobody can stop you!

Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV)

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I love the statement there: “PROVE” the will of God

• You can’t fact check faith

• Google can’t quantify the goodness of God

• God is not limited by logic

The only way to prove it is to live it out!

But I cannot stay in my category and take it to the next level and stay in my category

• It's time for someone to break the mold that you've been living in!

The kingdom of God is built on those who don’t fit the mold!
